Recientemente se ha celebrado la quinta edición de la reunión ChestAir, organizada por GSK en Madrid donde se han dado cita 250 neumólogos de toda España.
Àlvar Agustí ha participado en este evento como miembro del comité científico de la reunión, resaltando la importancia de “pasar de una medicina reactiva a una medicina predictiva, es decir, adelantarnos a que aparezca la enfermedad, lo que se conoce como la medicina P4”, “Si somos capaces de predecir correctamente, probablemente seremos capaces de diagnosticar antes y empezar a tratar antes. El factor tiempo es muy importante. Muchas enfermedades como la epoc se diagnostican muy tarde. Cuando van al médico con 65 o 70 años ya presentan una enfermedad avanzada. Con el cáncer de pulmón pasa lo mismo», ha explicado el Dr. Agustí.”.
